Phew! What a Scorcher…

The Band on were invited once again to play on Gorleston Bandstand and the weather did not let us down, what a wonderful day|
Sun, Sea, Sandcastles, Ice Creams and Sombreros. It was just like being in the Med but better.
An enthusiastic receptive audience on such a hot day meant we just had to, incorporate a few appropriate pieces of music within our wide and varied programme and Caribbean Variation, Spanish Eyes and the rousing, foot-tapping Valero seemed to go down a treat with some of our more enthusiastic listeners causing them to sporadically break into dance. We had our patriotic moments too and Lovely Jubilee encompassed many songs and tunes that make Britain great and was very well received by the huge crowd seated around the bandstand.
Kindly stepping into musical director’s shoes for the day was our wonderful Future Brass MD Joel Hayes, who looked after us bigger and older kids with expertise ensuring musically we did not go astray. Our sincere thanks to Annette Keeley for helping us out on Tenor Horn for the day.
